Robot - The Extended Arm of Man
The term "ROBOT" is derived from a latin word ROBOTA which means "forced labour".
An industrial robot is a general-purpose, programmable machine which possesses certain antromorphic, or humanlike characteristics.
The first all-electric robot was introduced by ASEA (now ABB) in 1974 called IRB 6

The Three Laws
A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to be harmed.
A robot must obey orders given by humans except when that conflicts with the First Law.
A robot must protect its own existence unless that conflicts with the First or Second Laws.
